For those searching for date ideas, Datinerary serves as an itemized list of dates that can be sorted from A-Z, by budget, or even randomly assigned, providing the users with an interactive way to search for their next outing. With the audience of college students, this mobile app takes a different spin on the traditional dating app.
The app features three main sections, each helping to organize the user's outings into a simplified date itinerary, or datinerary. The main page contains a spinner that randomly generates a date idea, providing a subtle gamification to the app’s experience. Apart from that, the list page allows for the user to directly search for ideas or to view them alphabetically, by budget, or by category. Each date idea contains a brief description as well as local amenities for such outings. The datinerary section lets the user view which dates they have saved for later, allowing them to build out different plans and experiences.
This app was built through multiple rounds of user flow testing, ensuring the flow is intuitive and ergonomic. The use of large icons, high contrast colors, and graphics catered to the app’s youthful audience makes Datinerary distinct and recognizable.
