This project reflects layers and rounds of simultaneous personal introspection and external surveying. Through closure, 3-dimensionality, and repetition, the mark centers on themes of dependability, inclusivity, and insight, providing versatility to multiple contexts and applications.
I worked through multiple revisions on how to turn all three ideas into one cohesive mark. The three original forms I created were already quite simplified and abstracted. Thus, I began to break each into its simplest bits and pieces, asking, “what here feels dependable, insightful, or inclusive.” Though the marks were unique and distinct in their own way, I started noticing certain similar elements among the mix. Each form included elements of partial symmetry, repetition, and use of negative space. Additionally, each concept centered on more emotional and abstract concepts, so I knew to prioritize visual elements of depth, connection, and intersection.
Colors aid in visualizing the 3-dimensional form of the mark, while supplementing the conceptual themes of dependability, inclusivity, and insight.
